Ole Ole y Ole! (As they say in the South)

With a 5 day weekend coming up my parents decided to plan a trip to their house in El Puerto de Santa Maria, a town in the South of Spain. A week of sun, beach and great food didn't sound too bad to me and I asked to bring along my exchange friend Mallory.

We spent half our time at the beach, and the other half in the small downtown area of El Puerto
One of the many churches in town, this one located right in the center
One of the most beautiful restaurants in town
El Puerto is known for being home to the Castillo de San Marcos, built in the year 1264.
Us in front of the Plaza de Torros in El Puerto, one of the largest and most famous bullrings in Spain
My mom and her friend told us it's tradition to grab the bull...for luck
And when in Spain...
The week we visited also happened to be the week of the huge motorcycle race in the South of Spain. So, El Puerto was packed with motorcyclists from all over the world
We got into the spirit of the event
We also went to the house of family friends in the town over to eat possibly the best meal of my entire life:
-fried eggs with jamon, chorizo and bread
-tomatoes with fresh cheese
-homemade lime sorbet
Then back to the beach
